Working Principle of Floating Fountains

A floating fountain is a dynamic water feature installed on the surface of lakes, reservoirs, and large artificial water bodies. It relies on a floating structure to support the entire system, allowing it to adapt to changing water levels while maintaining stable operation. The system integrates pumps, spray devices, electrical components, control systems, and a buoyant platform to create an attractive aquatic display.

 

The basic principle is based on buoyancy. The floating platform supports the fountain equipment on the water surface and is typically made of high-strength, corrosion-resistant materials with a hollow structure inside to provide sufficient buoyant force. This design ensures that pumps, pipelines, and nozzles remain stable regardless of fluctuations in water level, maintaining consistent performance.

 

The pump system serves as the power source of the floating fountain. It draws water from the surrounding body and pressurizes it before delivering it to the nozzles. By combining pumps of different capacities, various jet heights and water patterns can be achieved. The pressurized water flows through the piping system to the nozzles, forming vertical jets, rotating sprays, fan-shaped patterns, or more complex combinations of water effects.

 

The control system plays a central role in operation. It typically consists of a control cabinet, frequency converters, and programming modules that coordinate pump operation, nozzle activation, and lighting effects. It can follow pre-set programs or respond to musical inputs, enabling synchronized and rhythmic fountain performances.

 

The electrical system provides power through shore connections or waterproof cables, and it is equipped with safety protection devices to ensure reliable operation in wet environments. Some advanced systems also incorporate solar-assisted power supply to improve energy efficiency.

 

In addition, floating fountains offer strong flexibility and adaptability. They can be designed in modular units according to the size of the water area, making installation, maintenance, and relocation easier. Through the coordinated function of the floating structure and mechanical-electrical systems, floating fountains create stable and visually engaging water performances in natural aquatic environments.
