Our large floating fountain product line addresses this exact tier of projects - installations where spray diameters exceed 30 meters and the visual impact must carry across entire shorelines.

 

The structural foundation of a large floating fountain is its multi-section flotation array. Unlike small single-pontoon units, these platforms consist of interconnected modular pontoons arranged in geometric patterns that distribute the weight of pumps, piping, and steel framework across a wide surface area. Each pontoon segment is fabricated from marine-grade aluminum with welded internal bulkheads, creating watertight compartments that maintain buoyancy even if one section is damaged. The segments connect through flexible steel joints that allow the entire platform to flex with wave action rather than fighting against it.

 

Distributed pump architecture sets these large units apart from smaller designs. Rather than relying on one massive pump that creates a single point of failure, we arrange multiple medium-capacity submersible pumps symmetrically beneath the platform - typically 4 to 12 units depending on the target spray height and diameter. Each pump feeds a dedicated manifold that supplies a specific group of nozzles. This architecture delivers two practical advantages: first, the total hydraulic output scales linearly by adding pumps rather than requiring a custom-engineered single unit; second, maintenance becomes manageable because individual pumps can be isolated, lifted, and serviced while the remaining units keep the fountain operational.

 

The engineering challenge extends beyond hydraulics. Large floating fountains face continuous exposure to wind, waves, and thermal expansion that smaller units never encounter. Our design incorporates deep-draft stabilizer fins that extend below the platform to dampen roll motion, flexible piping connectors that absorb thermal expansion without stressing joints, and corrosion protection systems - including sacrificial zinc anodes and marine-grade coating - that extend service life in freshwater and brackish environments alike.
